Crom Carmichael Speculates What’s in the Afghanistan Withdrawal for Joe Biden and Family

Live from Music Row Wednesday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio to examine whether the Taliban will inherit American weaponry in Afghanistan and what the Biden family stands to gain.

(Mitch McConnell clip plays)

Leahy: And that is Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell criticizing the absolute utter incompetence of the Biden administration in this debacle in Afghanistan as we speak, Crom.

Right this very moment there are, the White House admits, 11,000 Americans stranded in Afghanistan. They cannot get to the airport to get out because the Taliban is there not allowing them to get through there.

A spokesman for the State Department basically said yesterday, pretty please Taliban, let our people get to the airport. What do you think their response is going to be?

Carmichael: There are so many different things that are so problematic. On July 8, Biden gave a speech, and he actually took some questions.

Yes, Every Kid

Leahy: He took some questions.

Carmichael: He took some questions that were not written in advance, which is highly unusual. But he took some questions. And in his question intersection, he pointed out that in his opinion, the Afghan government would last, and it would last because there were 300,000 well-armed troops –

Leahy: Well trained and well-armed, he claimed.

Carmichael: Now that the Taliban has taken over Afghanistan, where do you think all those arms have gone? They are now part of the Taliban militia. They now have all of the military equipment that was being used.

Let me also say this. Biden blames the Afghan troops for not fighting, and maybe in the end, they didn’t. But during the 20 year period, there were over 60,000 Afghan soldiers who died fighting for Afghanistan.

An Afghanistan that is depicted by more schools, more hospitals, and women’s rights to do this. And all this other stuff that now is in total and utter collapse.

Leahy: Tatters.

Carmichael: Yes. So to claim that the Afghan people wouldn’t fight is really …

Leahy: An insult.

Carmichael: An insult to the 60,000. I think the number of Americans – no question – that Americans themselves have tired of the Afghan war.

Unlike Vietnam, which was escalating in the number of deaths in Vietnam was getting larger and larger, American deaths in Afghanistan, as I think the way McConnell describes it, we had the lid on it.

Leahy: We had the lid on it. The last American casualty in combat in Afghanistan was February 2020.  So a long time ago. But we had what – in 25,050 troops there. We had control.

We had a lid on it. And then Biden just basically said, everybody, leave now. Leave the equipment there, leave our citizens there.

Carmichael: It’s almost as if the Taliban, through secret sources, contacted secret sources who worked for Hunter Biden and bought two pieces of art.

Leahy: Almost as if.

Carmichael: Because there is no other real explanation for why Biden would make such an incredibly stupid decision. So you have to ask, given the fact that we hadn’t lost a person in the military in over a year and a half.

We’ve been losing more police officers in Chicago than we have troops in Afghanistan. Given that, why would he make a decision that is so catastrophically bad for the entire world?

Why would he do it? I have to conclude through the way that I look at how Biden thinks of things, something’s in it for him or his family, something is in it for him or his family.

Leahy: I think that’s worth looking into.

Carmichael: How else could you come up with the conclusion we weren’t losing troops?

Leahy: We were spending a lot of money.

Carmichael: Not nearly as much as we were in the past.

Leahy: But still a lot.

Carmichael: But what I’m saying is we spend money in Germany, we spend money in Korea. We do things to try to help the world remain a safer place.

If we were losing American lives in numbers that were meaningful, then I could see the argument for getting out of Afghanistan. And by the way, the numbers of people who hate America in that area of the world now will increase by tenfold.

Leahy: By tenfold because we are weak.

Carmichael: Not only are we weak, but they’re strong, and they’re now going to be incredibly well-armed.

Leahy: With our equipment that basically Biden gave to them.

Carmichael: Yes.

Leahy: It sounds worse than incompetence.

Carmichael: Oh, yeah.

Leahy: It’s almost intentional.

Carmichael: By the way, his entire now, I’m not talking about the military people. I don’t have a clue with Austin – what Austin has said. I don’t think it matters because of Austin’s job as secretary of defense.

I mean, he wears a mask and a shield, and the next thing you know, he’s going to be running around in a bubble. He’ll have a giant bubble, and he’ll be running around.

Leahy: He’s going to be picking his pronouns shortly.

Carmichael: I feel sorry for him, but he ought to resign because he’s not the secretary of defense. He’s the secretary of pronouns.

Leahy: That’s very good.

Carmichael: Well, thank you. It’s sad.

Leahy: It is very sad.

Carmichael: But now let’s look at how the world looks at us. Look at how China looks at us. Look at how Iran looks at us. Look at how Russia looks at us. We are feckless. I mean, truly, we are feckless.

And all it takes is buying one or two pieces of art from Hunter Biden through sources that do not report to the White House.

Leahy: This is your hypothesis.

Carmichael: This is my hypothesis. Almost anything that you want out of Washington is to go buy a $500,000 painting. And if your ask is really big, then pay $1 million for exactly the same.

Leahy: We have devolved to this. It’s time to push back. We’ll see what that is when we get back after the break.
